E-books

Often people are struggling with life’s issues but don’t necessarily wish to seek therapy. These e-books, utilising therapeutic creative writing, aim to offer help and comfort to those who are suffering. I’m working on various books and courses but the first two cover the topics of Grief and Heartbreak.

Coping with Grief through Creative Writing is aimed at people struggling with bereavement who require help or an outlet to express their thoughts and emotions. I struggled immensely when my mum passed away back in 2014, mainly because of the long, terminal illness she sadly had, and the emotional and physical impact of caring for her through this while holding down a job and raising two children. Creative writing is the therapeutic tool to help people cope with their grief and regain some control of their emotions. It is a safe, confidential way of expressing themselves and processing their thoughts. The creative writing prompts aim to comfort and assist grieving people while also encouraging them to focus on positive aspects. For example, if there is something that they didn’t say to the deceased person they have the option of writing about this which helps with closure. Another example is immortality – facing the fact that the world would most likely be insufferable if we did live forever, therefore accepting that death is inevitable and necessary to live meaningful lives and recognise that this is the natural order of the universe/the world. It is an excellent resource for existing therapists who wish to add another tool to their existing skills base when dealing with bereaved clients. This course is also useful for people who are helping somebody close to them who is going through a bereavement.

Heal your Heartbreak is aimed at those struggling with the end of a relationship. Many just cannot get their Ex out of their mind, have a hard time moving on and self-sabotage their efforts to heal. We often harbour a desire for them to come back and I’ve known people waste years (myself included) on waiting and hoping for that person to return. Each situation is different after a breakup, but the results are usually the same – many of us are unable to move on from our Ex. We cannot stop thinking about them. We replay conversations, mull over time spent with our Ex, torturing ourselves day and night. What if we had done things differently? What if we had made it work? We are simply unable to break this vicious cycle of negative thoughts. This book allows you to take back control of your thoughts and heart. I’m not promising that this is an easy journey and there will be roadblocks along the way, but by working through the book you will heal much quicker than if you wait for ‘time’ to heal you. Believe me, I’ve made every mistake you can make but I’ve learnt from them and developed a way forward to heal, a way that really does work. You will learn the milestones you need to reach to get over your Ex and lead you into better relationships in the future, and, most importantly, a relationship with the person who really is meant for you.

Building Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence is for anybody who wishes to build their level of confidence and self-esteem, and for practising therapists who work with clients who present with confidence issues. By working through this book, and practising the creative writing prompts, you will learn the possible reasons behind your lack of confidence and low self-esteem and develop a greater awareness of yourself and the reasons behind these feelings. Healthy self-esteem and self-confidence can help you lead a more fulfilling life. You will identify your negative thoughts and feelings, learn to recognise your value together with lots of tips and techniques to help you increase your self-esteem and self-confidence.
